Built in 1771 the building was originally warehouses servicing the Trent and Mersey Canal wharf. These were converted into the pub in the mid-19th century. The Swan Inn Stone has a varied history and was finally taken under the wings of the Blundell Family in 1998.

Owners of the John Joules and Sons Company since 1991, the Blundells: Brian and his son Geoff, were the first to re-introduce 3 of the beers, with original recipes brewed under license into the town since the close of the brewery in the 1970’s.

Now found as a regular feature amongst a compliment of 9 cask ales OLD PRIORY recreated in 1992 remains as popular today as it has ever been.

Home to this North London craft brewery Beavertown with their flagship beers….. oftern you will find Gamma Ray, Neck Oil or Lupuloid available on draft and cans.

Winners of the Heart of Staffordshire branch CAMRA pub of the year 2017 plus 2015 and back in 2010 and again in 2003. The Swan Inn Stone is renowned for its cask ale excellence. With over 700 breweries having been represented on the pumps in the past 18 years.

We don’t serve food as such, we find it allows us to concentrate on the quality of our real cask ales, although a selection of fresh baps are available through the week, accompanied by ‘Staffordshire Pork’ Pies.

The Swan Inn Stone supports local and national live music & entertainment. Take a look in the Gig Guide to find out what’s on. It’s not all ‘covers’ bands, we have a large selection of original artists too. Look out for some classic and heavy rock on Thursdays Rock Night.
